Summary:
Chapter 1: The Reese brothers discover a ruined convoy. Eight soldiers are dead. They take what they can from it, and continue to head to the bunker. Making it to the bunker Derek heads down and in to discover new renovations. A loud shotgun blast is heard from above, followed by the sound of someone rapidly descending the entrance. A man in military fatigues enters the bunker and Derek knocks him out. They learn from him that his name is Wyatt, and that the dead soldiers were his men. A concussion blast from a nuke knocks Derek out.
Chapter 2: Derek wakes to find that Wyatt is tending to his woulds. They learn that Skynet is responsible for the nuclear strikes. Wyatt shows them a hidden part of the complex (hidden behind a "hang in there baby poster"), then guides Kyle through an operation to repair his shoulder. Derek has an argument with Kyle about questioning Wyatt, but is forced to stop short when they hear digging at the blast door. They go and wake Wyatt, and they go to the open door. A T-70 was responsible for the digging, and attacks. Wyatt is mortally injured, and he orders Kyle and Derek out of the bunker. Just after they manage to get out the T-70 explodes, and caves the entrance in.
Chapter 3: Kyle and Derek make their way north to a fortified installation where they believe vehicles are located. They make their way into the facility, and encounter a Marine named Mac. Mac explains that he tried to make it to the bunker but was cut off, and shows them the remains of an aerial drone (he destroyed it). Eventually Mac teams up with the Reese brothers, and they drive out in a Humvee. On their way they are attacked by three drones. The vehicle is damaged, and Derek sustains two bullet wounds.
Chapter 4: Derek wakes to find Mac tending to his wounds. Kyle fixes the CB radio they picked up from the convoy, and they decide to head tword Sacrament origin of message) despite the fact it could be a trap. They stop driving before reaching the city, and Mac tells his history, and then they fall asleep. Derek is woken up by the sound of movement, and the group encounters Sails. Sails was just looking for food, after a short conversation he joins up with them.
Chapter 5: Derek and Kyle explain to Sails how Skynet is responsible for the attacks. Mac outfits the four of them with armor and more weapons. They make it to Sacramento and see that the city is not much more than a pile of rubble. They drie a ways in the take the city by foot. They make it to the city center and mac explains that he is worried that this is going to be a repeat of his past. Their conversation is cut short by three figures heading their direction.Jaina and her gang are introduced, and threatens Mac and Derek. Mac saves Jainas life by pulling her away from an attack by a drone. four drones attack, and are taken out without injury. Jaina decides that Dereks group can be trusted and invites them to join them
Chapter 6: Waves, Jamis, Jaina, Marks, Dan, Charles, Scott, Morgan, Snider and Maves are introduced in more detail. Gain some information on Jaina and other members of the group. Derek, Mac, Kyle, and Sails are dubbed "the core men". Gain general information about the setup of the gang. Supplies are moved, and the drones are salvaged by the demo bros (Charles and Scott). The gang accepts them as friends, allies and family
